Eyeball, based in the Czech Republic, is an innovative tool aimed at transforming how professional football clubs scout and recruit young players. How does it achieve this? The platform leverages full match videos, using computer vision AI, data analytics, and video analysis to provide clubs with deep insights into emerging talent from diverse markets and regions around the world.
“Our mission is clear: it’s not just about finding top talent; it’s about empowering clubs with the digital tools necessary to secure and future-proof their recruitment pipelines for young players. Whether by expanding scouting networks into new areas or utilizing AI-driven insights, we’re setting a new standard in sports technology,” said Manfred Lerley, CEO and Co-founder of Eyeball.
Eyeball is now active in 27 countries and is trusted by over 100 football clubs globally, including a majority of Premier League and Ligue 1 clubs, along with over 50% of clubs in both the German Bundesliga and Italy’s Serie A.
A spokesperson from a prominent Premier League club remarked, “Eyeball has completely redefined our approach to youth recruitment. The platform allows us to identify players we may have otherwise missed, providing data that supports our long-term recruitment strategy.”
Today, Eyeball announced the successful closing of a €5M seed funding round, led by Vendep Capital with contributions from Sportlogiq, Heartland, and Founderment. This new funding will drive Eyeball’s expansion into key markets in the US and Latin America and further enhance its technological capabilities.
“We’ve experienced a threefold revenue increase in 2024, and this latest investment is a powerful validation of our vision to transform global talent scouting for top clubs,” said Lerley. “We’re giving clubs access to a broader talent pool through previously unavailable data-driven insights.” Additionally, Eyeball allows clubs to scout talent from underrepresented regions, which were previously challenging to access, focusing on identifying future stars at an earlier stage than ever before.
